Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is the constant pumping of blood through blood vessels with excessive force and is one of the most important causes of premature death worldwide. In 2025, an estimated 1.56 billion adults will be living with hypertension. Hypertension kills nearly 8 million people every year, worldwide and nearly 1.5 million people each year in the South-East Asia (SEA) Region.
