Transforming NCD care services by keeping people at the heart of care provision

People with chronic diseases need lifelong care and support. Care must be coordinated, continuous and, as far as possible, provided nearest to where people live. Multiple factors such as health literacy, patient motivation and availability of health services determine the outcome of chronic diseases. Health-care services often do not provide optimum services that address the need of the patients with chronic diseases.

Walk the Talk - Racing against Cancer

The Month of June, is observed as National Cancer Survivor Month and this year Bhutan Cancer Society with support from World Health Organization and in collaboration with various partners celebrated the day with the theme “Walk the Talk - Racing against Cancer”.

World Health Day 2019 - Gasa Dzongkhag

The world Health Day 2019 was observed at Gasa on 7th April, 2019. The observation of the day has been organized by Ministry of Health with financial and technical support from WHO country Office in Bhutan.

In 1948, the First World Health Assembly called for the creation of a "World Health Day". Since 1950, World Health Day has been celebrated on the 7 April of each year.

World Tuberculosis Day - 2019

Bhutan joined the global community to commemorate the World TB Day which falls on 24th March every year. This year, all schools and communities in Bhutan celebrated World TB day.

The day was observed to create awareness, to inform and to educate public on Tuberculosis. The Ministry of Health conducted a TB and other respiratory disease clinic at Clock Tower in Thimphu to screen presumptive TB cases.
